Teacher Resources: Storyline Online (A Program of the Screen Actors Guild)

“Storyline Online” (http://www.storylineonline.net/) is a super resource that will provide guest readers for your classroom; viewable on your whiteboard.  The site is presented by the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and each of the stories is expressively read by a member of the organization.

The current collection of stories is rather small at two dozen, but they are books that you will know and enjoy sharing in a fresh way with your students.  Each story is accompanied by coordinating activities that will extend and strengthen your lessons.

Some of the stories found at “Storyline Online” are Harry the Dirty Dog, To be a Drum, Guji, Guji, Brave Irene, Sophie’s Masterpiece, Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch, and The Rainbow Fish.  You’ll enjoy the each of the well-known readers and the fact that they actually hold and read the books to your students.  These notable SAG members include Betty White, Hector Elizando, James Earl Jones, Sean Astin, Amanda Bynes, Jason Alexander, CCH Pounder, and more.

I enjoy referring to this site several times throughout the school year.  Check it out and let me know if you like it too.
